Hi! long time no see! well right now ton's of new stuff in our lives but i probably can only remember just a few things... if you didn't already know we are expecting a child! we are both very excited! our due date is to be May 30th(but we all are pulling for the 1st of june right?) anyhow greg has the siding done on the house and we took back all the extra siding supplied and it seems welve got enough to build about half of our deck! chels was really annoyed this morning as she was going to have to work on a monday since the salon is closed this weekend for the move and the holiday. chelsey's salon is moving the day after thanksgiving, and will only be open on tuesday wednesday this week, so she decided to work at the care center on monday tuesday and at the salon on wednesday so that everyone could look their best for the holiday! any how we are asking for xmas lists and doing our best to finish ours up to send out to you all. happy thanksgiving!

Obviously we have NOT updated this in a LONG time! We have started siding the house, the south side is done and about half of the east side is done! Greg says it is going up a lot faster and easier than he had planned, which is GREAT!
We are going to try and go camping one last time this weekend before we have to get the camper ready for winter. This is the last weekend that Greg doesnt have something going on till November, so we are taking advantage of it! Maybe we will get to somewhat celebrate our anniversary! (Can't believe its been 2 years already) :) Greg says we are just going to chillax(sp? chill and relax)!
We've decided to buy each other a KitchenAid Mixer for our anniversary and my birthday! Greg says its the best one that is within our budget!(that is the kitchenaid professional 5 plus) I cant wait I'm going to be a baking son of a gun haha!!!!!!
Work is still going good for both of us, Greg is still on days working on his line now he thinks it'll be till the 1st of the year at least. I'm still doing hair 2 days at the care center and 3 at the salon. My boss recently bought a new building so we will be moving our salon sometime in the next few months (depending on construction).
Thats about all we have going on for now! We will try to get some pictures up of the house soon. Hope everyone is doing well and had a great summer cause FALL is now here!

needing to update!!

hi everyone! here's what is going on with us... chels just last week started a 2nd job at a salon in an assisted living center in oskaloosa. she will work there on tuesday and wednesday, and will work at Hair Clinique on thursday friday and saturdays. this is a big change for her as she is now self employed part of the week and just went to commission at the other salon! we're really excited to be learning the roles of owners/managers/stock-keepers/payroll/scheduling/well everything there is to running a salon! as for me... i'm working 40 hrs still, thank god, and trying to side the house, but unfortunatuly between the heat at work(100 plus degrees) the heat at home outside after work(90 plus) and the two inches of rain every other night, i'm not getting very far! we were planning on camping last weekend but the rain, rained out a trail ride that we were going to be camping at with joann. next camping venture is fourth of july weekend @ the goodguys carshow in des moines! after that... we'll play by ear!

been awhile...

hey not much changed here. I went back to work on my line(from the tool room) and hate it, we're working on tearing off siding off of the house, getting ready for the new. and looking for someone to put soffit and facia on(reasonably!) chels is still working away then she's going on a walk w/ her mom... then probably to get ice cream(what's the point in walking?) anyhow i've ordered the last two windows for the house and am picking them up tomorrow! trouble is that i'm working 60 hours a week and don't have time to put them in! oh well the money is good, i'll take what i can get! chelsey is having a pampered chef party on sunday all are welcome...1:00pm

damn squirrels!

So along with the nice springy weather we've started feeding the birds and squirrels(just to keep them off the bird feeders), with that chelsey bought a squirrel feeder and filled it with a corn cob and the next day it was gone! The whole thing! I'm not sure the squirrels know that we cant continue to feed them if they take our feeders!

Along with the nice weather we've been working on the camper getting it ready to camp and tonight it's snowed about 3 inches already.... I think god might be telling us it's not quite spring yet. The kitchen is done for now until we get a new bathroom door, and then I can finish the trim work. The next big project is the siding(donations are now being accepted) We are kicking around the idea of going to the RV and Boat Show in Des Moines tomorrow, weather permitting, just to look around. That's really about all that is going on with us!

Kitchen

So the kitchen is pretty much done! All that is left is to touch up a few places with paint and put the trim up! Nothing to big. Here are the pictures with the floor in and stuff!We had to paint the floor before we layed the tiles. It was pretty neat looking! I guess thats what you get for using left over paint for everywhere else. Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather, casue we are told while Greg was at work I went on a walk with my cousin and he 1 year old and my friend and her 4 year old. We went to the park and played for like 2 hours. We had a blast!

kitchen update

It has been a while since we last updated. We haven't been up to a whole lot other than working and trying to finish the kitchen! We are making some very good progress though! We now have the walls ceiling and cabinets painted. We are getting really excited to be done! Now that we can see the end! We still need to lay the flooring and put up trim and move a few things (stove,hutch) back in but other than that its going good! I'm very anxious to get the house back in order! Also to any one who might be conerned OLDBLEW(greg's truck) caught fire on saturday. It was just a small electrical fire under the hood with minimal damage. It will be needing a new wiring harness from the fuse block forward as it all burnt up.

Just news

(greg): There's not much going on in our home right now... the kitchen is on hold 'till the counter top arrives. there are a few things that can be done but the majority of it is waiting on that. I'm still working days for now, there's a lot of talk going on at work about layoff's and hour/staffing cuts but the engineering support team (what I'm doing) is still pushing forward and is planning on 40 hr. weeks till the end of April. we are one of the more fortunate plants at pella, as we are building new machines for new products and corporate pella could pull the plug on development anytime. chels is taking tomorrow off to go to des moines with a good friend of hers which is getting a 3D ultrasound done. (she is really excited since she has been friends with this girl since they were in preschool). (chelsey) : I also am going to indian hills on sunday to get my continueing education to renew my licence (hair) with mom and a couple of her friends! It is from 8-5 so from what I hear it is going to be really boring lots of notes will be passed and lots of hang man! haha.... I also plan on doing my nails :) We went to the hospital to see my cousin and his wife and their new baby saturday! He is really cute (hayden marshal goodman) Other than that we have nothing new going on here! Hope everyone is well.

kitchen progress

so we've not done much since last login, i've managed to throw together some base cabinets(trying to match the others), we're adding a garbage disposal and building in the dishwasher, so the fridge is getting moved and that will free up some space for some more, much needed, countertop(which we ordered saturday). donations welcome!

Same ol' stuff

We do not have a whole lot of new stuff going on. We are slowly making progress on the kitchen. All the drywall mud is up it's just waiting to be sanded! Greg is going to try a new technique using a wet sponge. I've decided that it is really inconvenient to have everything that was in the kitchen in the rest of the house. It's a little annoying. We have started walking at the mall to get some exercise although Greg thinks that it sucks and complains the whole time. We usually get about 2 miles in each time. Other than that not we don't have anything exciting! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weather!

Just another day

As most of you read in our last post Greg was in the process of finding out if he had good news! He does....he is going to be working day temporarly (until April 1) in the tool room. Which means that he is basically training so he has a better chance of getting a job up there when things pick back up! I think it is going to take a little getting used to since we will both be at home together now!I mananged to change my hours around a little so that I only work till 8 one night a week so that we can be here together more! Also we started remodeling our kitchen! We are getting ready to start putting it back together on Friday I think! We are getting pretty excited about it since we have lots of things we are changing! Other than that not a whole lot new is going on in this household.We noticed yesterday that Pretzel's leg is swollen a little bit and called the vet but they can't get her in until Friday so lucky Greg has the day off so he is going to be taking her! We are sure its nothing but figured it should be checked out! Hope everyone is well!

JANUARY

Wow! I can't believe that it is january! We haven't really been up to anything lately....We are finally done with Christmas we got tons of awesome gifts for everyone! We went to Iowa City to bring in the new year! We stayed with Trenton Place and his gf Stephaine! Also Ben and Amanda went we had alot of fun and saw alot of weird and crazy people, not to mention freezing to death since Amanda and I didn't wear coats! We went to Ottumwa today and did a little shopping but mainly went to menards because we are going to start remodeling our kitchen! We have alot of work ahead of us!
